2022 GRBY Rules

    • We are a KBF partner club and will follow KBF tournament rules with the following exceptions.

    • ** 1/4" or more mouth opening is 1" penalty **

    • ** Touching or covering the tail is 1" penalty **

    • Open Mouth

      • A partially opened mouth or mouth that will not close completely as a result of a physical defect will not be penalized unless deemed excessive or appears intending to gain a competitive advantage.  Historically this has been 1/4” and that will remain the guideline for a penalty assessment.  If the mouth is deemed opened more than 1/4” a one inch penalty will be assessed.  Make that effort to keep the mouths closed and uniform as toeing the line won’t be worth it.

    • Tail Touching

      • Anglers will make a reasonable attempt to not touch or cover the tail.  This rule exists because covering the tail has been used to conceal identifying marks of fish as well as other means of adjusting the length of a fish to potentially submit the same fish multiple times.  If you have a slight coverage of the tail or are touching the tail so as to still permit fish identification, no penalty will be assessed. If there is an issue with coverage, judges will have discretion to either accept or disqualify the fish if identification marks can’t be verified.

    • Eye and mouth covering.

      • Eyes must be visible and uncovered.  If there is a dead eye on a fish, please video the release of said fish showing the length on the board, the dead eye, the healthy eye and release of the fish. Judges will ask for these and inability to prove the fish was alive will result in the disqualification of the fish from the score. Date and time stamps will be necessary if any of those criteria aren’t met. If the mouth is covered and the judges are unable to determine the mouth is closed, judges will have discretion to assess a one inch penalty or disqualify the fish from the score based on the situation.

    • We only allow the Ketch Board! #ketchboardonlyclub

    • No fish size limit (post up those dinks)

    • Tournament days are typically 8 hours long.

    • We use a personal ID for our tournaments.

      • This ID must be completely visible in your pictures.  It can be written on any Identifier,  piece of paper, your hand or anything you have available. (PG ITEMS ONLY 😉  )

    • We will give at least 1 hour after lines out to submit your fish.

    • No physical live captains meetings except at the GRBY Championship for awards on day two.

    • No refunds once you sign up.

    • After initial signup anglers can change days themselves via TourneyX up to lines in time on Thursday of the tournament.  You will need to access TourneyX from a browser to change your day.  This will NOT work in the app.  Please be aware that angler limits still apply for each day.  You can only switch if there is a spot available.

    • No additional signups after day 1 tournament starts

    • No switching days once the tournament starts. The only exception to this is for is as follow:

      • If a River or Lake is determined unsafe the TD for that series can switch you to another day if available.

      • If there isn’t a day available, the angler will receive the points for the place they finish.  A refund can also be issues, but no points will be awarded and the tournament will not count towards qualifying for the championship.

  • Entry fee of $35 break down:

    • $5 Tourneyx fee

    • $5 big bass pot

    • $5 pay pal fee/admin fee

    • $20 payout

    • Top 10% payout per payout file

  • Judging

    • Fish judging will be shared between TD’s.  A TD can fish their series, but cannot judge fish for any series they fish in.

    •  Also, as a last resort, we may request other TD’s from other clubs to help us judge fish.

  • Scoring

    • Our scoring will be a point system as follows:

      • 100, 99, 98, 97, 96, etc.  Minimum 20 points.

      • Points awarded per leaderboard placement.

      • 50 points awarded for 0” or last place points (whichever is the least amount).

      • AOY for each series is determined by your best 4 scores for that series.

        • AOY tie breakers will be determined as follows:

          • 5th tournament in the series breaks the tie.

          • If still tied (those involved didn’t fish 5 events) we will go by the longest stringer until we determine a winner..

          • If still tied we will have  co-AOYs.

  • State Championship Tournament

    • Fish 4 events at any one series and you qualify to participate in the Championship.

    • The championship will be a on site 2 day event with a captains meeting Saturday and Sunday evening.
